Archer
The hamlet of Archer was named after Thomas Archey who was proprietor of the post office when it was built in 1883 and he served as the area's first mail carrier. Robert Weagant is recorded as the first official postmaster. The community supported several essential trades, including a blacksmith named Robert Cunningham and a cheese maker named William Myers. There was also a general store operated by William Miller. As of 1905, the postmaster for Archer was John Warren. By 1905 the population had increased to 50 people.
